Sebastopol Area Senior Center
Our Vision
A Brief History
The original ten founders came together in 1968 to
create a gathering place for seniors in the Sebastopol Community.
The Sebastopol City Council gave their support and authorized the use of
a city-owned house at 167 North High Street.
The Burbank Activity Center became incorporated the following year.
Now known as the Sebastopol Area Senior Center, the facility has the
distinction of being the oldest continually operating senior center in
Sonoma County.
What We Do
The Sebastopol Area Senior Center:
Creates and maintains an environment that encourages independence
for seniors, provides learning, social, and recreational opportunities in
pursuit of an active, healthy life.
-
Provides resources and referrals for seniors, their family
members, and other individuals.
-
Helps the greater community understand the aging process and the
issues that surround that process.
