Wednesday, August 23, 3 - 4 p.m.

Meditation sessions will return to the Sebastopol Area Senior Center each Wednesday from 3 to 4 p.m. beginning August 23.

These sessions are appropriate for both beginning and experienced meditators, and will also address questions that tend to arise at the beginning of a meditation practice. The gatherings will be ecumenical in nature, and each will be led by one of a roster of experienced meditation teachers:

  • Angel Stork is a teacher of meditation and Qigong who draws from diverse spiritual traditions. Angel has been a meditation teacher, of one kind or another, since 1985, when she graduated a 2+ year program for meditation, healing and intuition development in San Francisco. She taught in the same program for 17 years. Since leaving that program, she has explored other forms and meditative practices, guided imagery, consciousness studies and Focusing. Through meditative work, she teaches her clients about still point, resonance, energy management, healing, and the use of the mind to expand awareness.
  • Richard Ruge has studied a variety of meditation disciplines.
  • Lorraine Alexander is a teacher of DASA (Developing Awareness through Self-Actualization) Meditation, founded in 1975.
  • Amie Hill has done formal practice at San Francisco Zen Center and Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
  • Sri Nath is a novice student of Amma, the Hugging Saint, since 2008.
