A docent led tour to this hidden gem in Petaluma! A Student run museum located at Petaluma High School. It is the first and only Student-run Museum in the United States. The museum houses over 9000 square feet of spectacular artful dioramas with taxidermied animal scenes from all over the world, mineral and fossil displays as well as live mammals, reptiles, amphibians, an aviary, and invertebrates. You can get up close and even hold and pet if you want. The dioramas are so well done, you will feel you are part of the scene. It’s hard to believe that students run and maintain a museum that is featured in many magazines for its quality and professionalism. Yet here it sits in our back yard. Meet in Petaluma ~ drive on your own or carpool. We can help with rides. Join us for lunch on your own at Cucina Paradiso Restaurant, on the river. Lunch and Transportation NOT included.
