Hallmarks of Healthy and Aging

  • Sebastopol Area Senior Center 167 North High Street Sebastopol, CA, 95472 United States (map)

Join Dr. Peter Madill and Dr. Allan Bernstein on the exciting topic of healthy aging. As we get older, many parts of the nervous system change, and paying attention to them can improve your overall health and well-being.

This presentation will connect these changes to the Hallmarks of Healthy Aging, a scientific framework that explains how the body works to stay healthy and prevent disease. We’ll explore exciting research on “Super Agers” as real-life examples of these hallmarks in action.

You’ll also learn about two critical systems: the gut microbiome (the “second brain”) and the autonomic nervous system, which controls heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure.

This talk provides a simple roadmap for understanding the science of aging and how these systems can be supported over time.
