Annual Holiday Letter

Dear Supporters of the Senior Center,

Your continued support has helped us open our Harvest Cafe! This new cafe concept would likely surprise you—since we began serving meals two months ago, we have already served 710 meals to seniors, their caregivers, and families! The focus of the Harvest Cafe is to serve creative, organic, healthy meals using the freshest and most local ingredients possible. Seniors get a “restaurant” experience where they can dine with dignity, and it’s a place for isolated seniors to connect with one another, meet new friends, and receive services. Your continued support is needed.

Claire, 75, enjoying lunch

Thanks to generous donors like you, nearly 80 low-income seniors have enjoyed their meal free! We never turn anyone away for lack of ability to pay. Though the fee for guests enjoying lunch is only $10, the actual cost to produce the meal ranges between $22-25. Won’t you help us continue to keep the cost of these lunches as affordable as possible with a donation today?

It might be of no surprise to you that our senior population will increase exponentially in the next decade. Our commercial kitchen is approaching 25-years-old and is in need of serious upgrades and repairs. Thanks to our recent event attendees, we raised $75,000 towards our Kitchen Remodel Project! We only have $25,000 remaining to raise to ensure we can serve more seniors than ever! By donating this Holiday Season, you can ensure YOUR senior center can meet the demand of a rising senior population, and that every senior can enjoy a meal with dignity regardless of income.

Donate today (by mail, by phone, or here). On behalf of staff, volunteers, and our Board of Directors, thank you for your support this season and always.

P.S. Come down and see for yourself! The Harvest Café is open Tuesday-Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Sincerely,

Katie Davis, Executive Director and Alan Beckstead, President, Board of Directors
