Art Lecture - 1915 Panama Pacific International Expo

  • Sebastopol Area Senior Center 167 North High Street Sebastopol, CA, 95472 United States (map)

Join Linda Loveland Reid on a historical trip back in time to the 1915 Panama Pacific International Expo. How did the Expo help the Bay Area recover from the Quake? Who were the politicians, designers and artists behind the Expo’s tremendous success? Listen and learn how, like a Phoenix rising from the ashes of the 1906 earthquake, San Francisco put on a Fair to end all Fairs! It only costs $1 for an overnight stay at the Fair’s hotel or stay the whole week, food and all, for $20. Lots of great art in the Palace of Fine Arts building. The Suffragettes will be there along with Lotta Crabtree and John Philip Sousa and nearly 19 million other folks. Linda is a figurative and abstract painter, has directed community theater for 30 years, and serves on the boards of SebARTS, Artist Workshop, and OLLI/SSU. Linda is a past president of Redwood Writers and author of two novels on Amazon. A Jack London Awardee, she teaches art history at SSU and Dominican Universities. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. Call us to register: 707-829-2440. Members may register online using their key tag code.
